104 / V/A: Fwonk* Side of the Moon

To celebrate five years of Fwonk*, and forty years of Dark Side of the Moon, our regulars got together and reproduced Pink Floyd’s classic LP.

This LP faithfully follows the original structure, but each track is warped by a different artist or group of artists. This encompasses ambient electronica, chip-tune, shoegaze, metal and idm versions of the classic originals. We even threw in some extra bonus tracks inspired by DSotM for the sheer fun of it.

All songs written and originally performed by Pink Floyd. We are making no money from the release of this EP. We do this for the sheer love of the music. If you don’t own the original Pink Floyd album, we really suggest you get a copy now, as it’s magnificent.

100.1 / V/A: FWONK*100

Welcome to FWONK*100 – our hundredth release on the good ship Fwonk*! As we settle down, to read our congratulatory letter from HRH The Queen, we give – as the first salvo in a five-album salute – this massive compilation to you.

Featuring Fwonk* regulars and old-timers such as Heskin Radiophonic, Styli, Vasko The Pig, Katarrhaktes, Fudgedubnofunk, Organic Shift Man and Nemmo this also features – at long last! – the first Fwonk* recording from Norwegian progmeister and father-to-us-all Eivind Fivelsdal.

Fwonk* would especially like to thank Katarrhaktes for the going and building that amazing sculpture and making the artwork just for lil’ ol’ us.

098 / V/A: California Walrus

Everyone knows that California is the best US state. That’s why the Sages of Fwonk, under the direction of Katarrhaktes, have banded together to produce 17 songs in a compilation which eulogises its greatness. Or it’s just a bunch of random demos we made for shits and giggles that have nothing to do with one another. But hey! You won’t find these tracks anywhere else. Probably.

083 / V/A: Derams Of Lithotripsy

From the leanest of the Fwonk elite, we present to you Derams of Lithotripsy – an LP epic with all the trimmings. Fat, bone, and gristle washed down with a few delectable shots of thick, warm blood. Recorded over a single week when our Lord and Master left our virtual residence for sunnier climes, this 18 track ode to a lost Chieftain removes the need for polish, replacing it with raw dynamism and reflexive potentiality.

Curated and organised by Katarrhaktes, this also features the work of Limb-Bow, Czechchap, Vasko The Pig, Bachelor Machines, Valinsjev, Cupid Stunt, Puppet Show, Echosonic, Lisa Librarian, Imploded View, Quiggers, Fudgedubnofunk and Iain M Spillane.

080 / V/A: Cogitare Diem

Balls to ‘seizing the day’. That’s for relentless over-achievers to do. Let’s imagine the day, lie supine in wistful thought, declare “the muse has alighted ‘pon my soul” and give in to the wondrous capacity for creative thought. These ten personally selected tracks capture some of the amazing brain-splat that Fwonk* artists can achieve. Enjoy these tunes, follow the links and grab some more brain food!

050 / V/A: Fwonk*50

We celebrate Fwonk*s fiftieth release in a big way: we present our biggest ever compilation, full of new, rare and unreleased tracks by members (old and new) of the forum. Then, as if that were not enough we present four exclusive mixes representing the cream of Fwonk*s output, mixed by Heskin Radiophonic, Total Cult, Vasko The Pig and Katarrhaktes. In total we present nearly six full hours of music for your listening pleasure, and to top it all off, we present a stylish CD booklet in PDF format.

047 / V/A: Don’t Do Drugs

While the cat’s away the mice will play. And record. And submit. One terrifying week in July, the Spirit of Fwonk himself disappeared into the aether, leaving the rabble to fend for themselves. This is what we created whilst he was gone; a selection of tracks that are reactive rather than contemplative, instinctive knee-jerks rather than fully realised ideas. Fwonk without the frills or the varnish. The cheap, dirty underbelly of Fwonk.

043 / V/A: Under Cover

Once again, the lovely people at Fwonk* have bent their minds to a common purpose. This time, we have a wonderfully eclectic selection of cover versions that, while honouring the originals, breathe new life into perhaps familiar tunes. Genre boundaries are blurred and cast aside in favour of experimentation, fun, and sometimes sheer bloody mindedness. Whether you prefer your ears to be caressed or assaulted, there will be something in here for you.

Download. Consume. Don’t look back.

036 / V/A: Fwonk* Vol. 1

If music was jumpers, Fwonk* would be a Beneton poster. Reveling in diversity, the collective community who brought you the critically ignored Blinding Flesh Of Genius has done it again. This 14 track compilation includes shuffling dub, epic drones, glitched-out breaks and all manner of electronic music fun-foolery made by musicians from around the world. So stick it in your pod, sit back and let the united colours of Fwonk* spunk rainbows in your ears. Because you’re worth it.

017 / V/A: Blinding Flesh Of Genius

In the late summer of 2008 the artistic and always cutting-edge members of Fwonk* (then Blinding Flesh of Genius) got together to produce a collection of some of the most contemporary tunes you’re likely to hear this year. No rules, except one: ‘make it good, make it interesting’. Mixed and mastered by the very capable echosonic, all aspects of Volume One have been sculpted carefully and communally, including the tracklisting and artwork, and represent the Blinding Flesh ethos of member involvement and high expectations. All of which makes this a highly original piece of work and one not to missed. Download and enjoy now!
